Marcel Bijlsma leads the innovation theme Connecting People within Novay. Taking a socio-technological, user experience perspective this innovation theme researches why and how people communicate, collaborate and share knowledge and what role ICT can play.  

Marcel is one of the founders and next to that program manager of the  Future Workspaces (FWS) innovation project (www.futureworkspaces.nl) . This public/private partnership aims at increasing the effectivity and flexibility of knowledge workers. The multi year research program focuses on case research, good practice destillation and concept development regarding innovative ways of working, emerging working styles and prototyping new tools and applications.  It researches how how professionals communicate, collaborate and share knowledge and what role ICT can play.  (Connecting Professionals)

Before Marcel was project manager of the Metis project. Also  a public/private innovation program. In the period of 2002-2006 this program has been focusing on smart knowledge management solutions.

In the period summer 2006 until end of 2007 Marcel has been involved as a program manager sports information systems in the innovation foundation innosportNL .
