I work as a senior researcher and consultant in the Service Architectures group at Novay. As a researcher and consultant I get the best of both worlds: I can both work together with researchers at universities to advance the state of the art, and I can directly work with enterprises to advise them on how to employ these novel ideas in their organisation.
Since I joined Novay in 1999 (still called Telematica Instituut at the time), I have worked mainly on methods, techniques and tools (MTTs) for conceptual modelling and application development in various domains, such as e-business, networked enterprises, inter-organizational business processes, enterprise architecture (EA), mobile service development and service-oriented architecture (SOA). Nowadays these would all be called instances of model-based or model-driven architecture and development (MDA/MDD). Within this area I am especially interested in meta-modelling, model transformation, multi-viewpoint specification and the combination of ontological reasoning and MDD.
